Now here is a great old magazine cover story, the Jan. 1959 issue of TV Radio Mirror. Don't the Lennon Sisters look beautiful with their dad, Bill? The article is sweet but it's the photos that are impossibly cute, especially little Mimi in that picture with Dee Dee.

Lennon Sisters 1950s Photos

I won some charming photos on ebay recently of the Lennon Sisters from the fifties, as well as a fashion layout they did for a magazine called Western Family. Not sure of the date - maybe 1957 or '58. The school fashions they modeled remind me of old pictures of my mother from that era. As a matter of fact Peggy looks not unlike my mom.

The title kind of sums it up for this Sept. 1966 cover story from TV Radio Mirror. It's chock-a-block full of Lennon Sisters photos. Back then they were celebrating a mere 10 years in showbiz. Now of course they've got 50 years under their belts. Pretty damn amazing.

I'm not the best Catholic in the world. In fact I didn't even make it to mass at St. Joseph's this weekend. In lieu of that I figured I could at least scan an article about the Lennon family and their faith.

Introducing Jennifer, the littlest Lennon

For a while anyway. Peggy still had another baby yet to add to her brood of six. I think she had the most kids of any of the 11 Lennon siblings.

This June 1973 issue of Lady's Circle has some nice tidbits on Peggy and her family. Kathy chimes in with tales of performing in Las Vegas with all the little ones in tow.

From Babies To Babies

I guess to the readers of this Aug. 1967 issue of Lady's Circle, it didn't seem that long ago that The Lennon Sisters themselves were little girls, and then, there they were having their own bit of a baby boom.

This was one of many cover stories the Lennons did for Lady's Circle, continuing all the way through the early 1980s. I'm not sure if there were earlier ones, but given that they mispelled Kathy's name I'm thinking this one might be the first.

As for the sisters' child-rearing beliefs, I think they are on the money. I experienced the "old wooden spoon" thing myself growing up, and have no complaints. And if you disagree, fine, but please don't send me any vehement anti-spanking diatribes, m'kay? Thanks.
